I'm in agreement with manasmage that this bill will only prolong the inevitable. By this government bailout for the wealthy, this country will succeed only in passing our economic troubles on for future generations to try to solve. Why has no one listened to the hundreds of trained economists, worldwide, who have enumerated many other ways to help our economy recover from this crisis other than handing over vast sums of taxpayers' money to the irresponsible and possibly criminal Wall Street bankers?! There are other alternatives but apparently, our government doesn't want to hear them. This sudden urgency to pass this bailout legislation sounds too much like creating panic in the population so our government can step in and "save" us. Hm-m-m-m, isn't that one of the classic ways to control a population?
